SpinTrack is a very deep, powerful platform to run a radio or streaming station. Setting up is a lot of work.
That's why I wanted to create a full demo that allows you to see most of what SpinTrack can do, without spending hours filling it with the necessary content (Music, Production elements, etc.) and at the same time figuring out how it works. So, I decided to make that part easy.
When you install the SpinTrack Demo (easy) it comes complete with a 200 song library, production elements and even commercials! You don't even have to schedule any music to get it running - CHART (the music scheduler) schedules and creates a full week of logs, and then starts playing the current day's (at the current time) log. A few seconds and you'll hear music coming out of the speakers of your Mac.
There were a couple issues with doing it this way. First off, I couldn't legally build a library of copyrighted music. Same thing with commercials. So, I worked with AI to do all that.
I'm not going to lie to you. I don't like AI generated music, or AI generated commercials (with AI voices). I've spent my career doing live radio, voice work and audiobook narration. I don't support using AI in these ways at all, and doing it only reinforced my belief that human created music can't be matched by AI.
All 200 songs in the SpinTrack Demo library (kind of) sound like pop music. I had AI create a number of artists from different eras (60s-2000s), and write 200 pop songs. I gave the AI the spread of genres, band types, tempos and intensities.
I also had the AI create commercials for several generic, local businesses, so there are commercials in the logs as well.
The station you'll hear when you boot up the Demo will honestly be the worst station ever built on the SpinTrack platform — but I didn't have to violate copyright law to get it to you, and it'll still show you exactly what the platform can do. That's the point, after all.
Finally, after you boot SpinTrack up and start playing with it, you may catch a few "easter eggs." There are 5 of them. The first person to correctly identify each one wins a free copy of the full SpinTrack app — 5 different users will get SpinTrack for free when we release (very, very soon). If you're not the first to spot one, I'll still give you 20% off just for identifying at least one of them. So send me everything you find at kevingossett@protonmail.com — worst case, you save 20%; best case, you don't pay at all. And a hint here: two of my favorite TV series are "Breaking Bad" and "Better Call Saul." Make of that what you will.
Thanks again for trying SpinTrack!
